Care is delivered through online visits when a clinician determines that outpatient treatment is appropriate for you. Your initial conversation helps us understand your needs and whether this program is a fit. Some people need a higher level of care.
7-OH and kratom act on some of the same receptors as opioids, so withdrawal can feel similar: anxiety, restlessness, trouble sleeping, sweats and chills, body aches, and an upset stomach. Symptoms usually begin within a day or two and often peak within a few days. For many people the physical symptoms ease within about a week to ten days, but timing varies with how much you use and for how long. It can be very uncomfortable, and having a plan makes a real difference.
A taper is a gradual, planned reduction, guided by your clinician. The pace depends on how much you use and for how long, and we adjust it as you go based on how you are feeling.
Your clinician may prescribe medications to help with symptoms such as anxiety, trouble sleeping, muscle aches, or an upset stomach. Which medications, if any, are right for you is decided after your evaluation, and we review the benefits and risks with you first. Medication is not appropriate for everyone.
We will ask how long and how much you have been using, what you have tried before, your health history, your goals, who supports you at home, and what is happening in your life over the next few weeks, such as work, family, or travel. This helps us build a plan that fits you.
If you would like to keep working with us after the program, you can continue care through your health insurance or on a self-pay basis. We will talk through the options with you before your program ends.
It depends on your situation. Tell us about everything you use, including alcohol and other substances, because 7-OH and kratom products vary and can contain other ingredients. Some people need a higher level of care, and if that is you, we will help you find the right place to start.
