Innovative Ketamine Therapy in Arizona

When standard antidepressants haven’t helped, some clinicians consider ketamine. Ketamine is FDA-approved for anesthesia, and clinicians prescribe it off-label in psychiatry. Standard antidepressants usually take 4 to 8 weeks to work (NIMH). In randomized trials of a single IV ketamine infusion for treatment-resistant depression, some patients' symptoms eased within hours to days (Zarate 2006; Murrough 2013). Those trials used IV infusions. Evidence for at-home dosing is more limited, and results vary from person to person.
